FCTA Approves ₦5.7bn Power Line Project for Bwari Satellite Communities
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has approved a ₦5.7 billion contract for the construction of a 33kV power supply line to improve electricity infrastructure across Dawaki, Tukulo and adjoining communities in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja.
The contract was awarded to CGC Nigeria Ltd, with an eight-month completion period.
The project forms part of a wider infrastructure programme targeting communities around Abuja's satellite towns, where the expansion of residential and commercial development is increasing demand for supporting infrastructure.
₦5.7bn Power Infrastructure Contract
The approved project will provide a 33kV electricity connection from Dawaki to Tukulo and neighbouring communities, extending power infrastructure into areas experiencing continued development.
Beyond the new power-line contract, the FCTA also ratified two previously completed rural infrastructure projects with a combined value of more than ₦17.1 billion.
These include the ₦8.2 billion Gaba–Tukulo Road, constructed by Setraco, and the rehabilitation of the Paiko Kore–Ibuwa Road, valued at approximately ₦8.9 billion.
The combination of road and electricity investments points to a broader infrastructure build-out around Abuja's emerging satellite communities.
